LGBTQIA+
Working with the LGBTQ community is one of my passions. It can be a struggle to feel seen, understood, and accepted by those around you. This can lead to a sense of isolation, loneliness, and shame. Many people experience wounds inflicted by friends, family, religious institutions, and societal expectations. Others simply are searching for a therapist with whom they can feel comfortable to be themselves and seek support for challenges they are facing.
AREAS OF FOCUS: INDIVIDUALS • LGBTQIA+ LIVED EXPERIENCES • LIFE TRANSITIONS • RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS / INTERPERSONAL SKILLS / BOUNDARIES • DEPRESSION •ANXIETY AND STRESS • GRIEF & LOSS • QUEER AND TRANS CONCERNS/LIBERATION • INTERNALIZED OPPRESSION • SEXUALITY AND GENDER EXPLORATION • CONSENSUAL & ETHICAL NON-MONOGAMY AND POLYAMORY • INTERSECTIONAL MENTAL HEALTH
When clients fully recognize how valuable they are and develop a deep sense of self-acceptance and self-love, it allows them to live their life in healthy and positive ways.
I also provide counseling services for friends and family members of individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ who may be struggling with understanding or accepting a loved one.
